What To Write In A Tombstone

Art tail

No no this title is not meant to generate traffic on this blog, there will be nothing sexual in this post that librarianship

;-) I suggest, in these times of scarcity of cultural policy a lesson in 3 hours, intro / thesis / antithesis / conclusion, where a few quotes from sociologists would be welcome:

Cultural flows are they the same trade flows?
If so should we nevertheless understand them in the same way?

(Ok ok you tell me we already feel the bias of the quote that you will want to agree with its meaning or have a concrete argument to convince ;-)

First What is a cultural flow?
This stampede which only 5:55 p.m. (6:55 p.m. or 7:55 p.m. or or ...) Every human being is asked to make a valid location or librarians are a magic wand to ensure that you can go with books, CDs, DVDs, magazines that you have worn your choice. Flows that we assimilate the busy days to those found in supermarkets (hence the notion of trade flows in case you do not understand ;-) and I do speak the same not flow captives such as mail or prefecture ...

You should also know that standing in line or not, is a concept that varies from one culture to another, such as the Chinese do not "know" not queuing is a principle that their is totally unknown, which does not mean they do not have to suffer! In some countries of North Africa are asked the person in front of you "save" your place so you can go sit down. In Anglo-Saxon it would never occur to anyone the idea to grill the favor by trying to jump the queue (I've even seen in New York that I called "facilitators tail" whose mission distract you while you wait ;-). While in France free riding is a national sport!
And we must not neglect this national specificity when you have to manage flows ;-)

The problem with these flows, in libraries, is that rather than anticipate them and do everything to avoid it is assumed they are unavoidable and should be done with. What is already a bad starting point to build a valid scenario and start thinking, right?

To do this, we take example on patterns of trading system, note that I have nothing against profit from this scheme even if it is reproduced in its best and effective as the marketing example! And, in my opinion, for the thinkers of the capitalist system the notions of trade flows and funds are still waiting for the big black dot and the glaring failure of this model. But to limit them away f.

Everyone will have noticed the poor "hostess" who is struggling in the middle and running around from one fund to another to help clients stranded?
You tell me, but seeing is resistance to change, it is a step forward for the user that is gaining autonomy, we can not compare the noble profession of librarian to the tribulations of a cashier there is in the cultural course!

Certainly, certainly, but mostly I see a model that replaces a disposal by another. So if I have nothing against this so-called progress which costs very expensive and moreover gives us once again bound and gagged with commercial suppliers, I can not help but ask questions and try to think about what
model derived from the consumer society plated artificially on a model that I continue to think different (maybe wrongly?)
But most is that this model does not solve any of the pitch from this post: managing the flow and avoid this pù * $! ù d waiting to borrow or return the documents!
